Enabling Independence: Housing… with supports.
As seniors age, supportive housing can be
the perfect answer to independent living.

Supportive Housing.

At Circle of Care we know that seniors wish to live independently, but may need some assistance as they age. Supportive Housing offers a good balance of independent living, with some assistance. We have partnered with Reena and Habayit Shelanu Seniors Residence to provide these housing options.

Habayit Shelanu, sponsored by Circle of Care and developed by the Kehilla Residential Program, is a 59-unit, not-for-profit, seniors apartment building conceived to meet the needs of seniors in downtown Toronto.  Opened in the spring of 1995, Habayit Shelanu provides a setting for independent living, and was planned to enable aging in place. Located at 155 Kendal Avenue at the foot of Casa Loma hill, Habayit Shelanu features spacious lobbies, landscaped roof terraces and a sheltered courtyard.  All areas of the building are fully accessible and several one-bedroom suites have been designed for independent wheel-chair living.
Supportive Housing Services offered by Circle of Care staff, such as homemaking, personal care, shopping, security checks and social work services are available as required by tenants.  Enhanced on-site care can be accommodated in the building as the needs of the residents increase with aging.
